Pawsfest 2019 was held October 26, 2019. This is an annual fundraising event hosted by C.H.A.R.M., Inc. to raise funds to provide for the needs of the dogs at the Headland Animal Shelter. People from all over the Wiregrass area and beyond gather with their dogs on the Square in downtown Headland to enjoy this dog friendly event. We have vendors who offer pet products, pet services, food, & crafts. The most popular event is the Pet Pageant and Pet Parade. People enjoy planning costumes for their dogs and some wear coordinating costumes. Every entry receives a “swag bag” and winners in four categories win a prize basket filled with some wonderful prizes donated by area pet stores & local restaurants. We sell Pawsfest tee shirts and also have a drawing for several very nice donated prizes. Food, cleaning supplies, shelter improvements and medical expenses for the dogs at the shelter are provided by the funds raised at Pawsfest and private donations.
